REED MFG Vise No. 205 5 Jaws Swivel Base 89lbs 1927 Production USA

205 5 Jaws - Made in USA. 1927 production Reed Mfg Co. 205 vise featuring 5 smooth jaws and swivel base.

Made by Reed in Erie PA, vise is marked with 1908, 1912 and 1914 patent dates. Eighs in at 89lbs, 20 1/2" length in closed position and 11" height at jaws. The jaws are 5" wide (4 7/8") and jaws open 7 3/4 with front jaw beam flush with rear of back jaw/base.

Base bottom measures 10 to hole centers on diagonal. 205" side with assembly stamp "193 and production date stamp 227 - February 1927 - see pic #12. Vise has been inspected closely and is in overall good condition.

Vise had a moderate amount of grease and areas of surface rust, but as typical, once brushed off it's easier to evaluate. Jaw faces are original - fair condition with surface rust and chips/scratches. The vise has been cleaned enough to assess condition - identify marks, front jaw beam, etc. Handle replaced - fully functional 13 replacement is straight. Base is three hole mount with one undamaged original, one repaired 40% chipped and the third was repaired/welded.
