Antique COLUMBIAN Swivel Vise No. 403 1/2 - 3 1/2 Jaws - Made in USA. 1920's era Columbian Vise & Mfg.

403 1/2, featuring swivel rear jaw and swivel base. Vise weighs in at 34.4#, 17" length in closed position and 8 1/2" height at jaws. The jaws are 3 1/2" wide and the vise opens 4 1/2" with dynamic front jaw flush with rear of back jaw/base. Jaw faces are original with rear jaw face smooth and the dynamic jaw has chip at bottom right (see pic #12). Top edge intact within 1/4 of top edge.

Pin heads exposed on dynamic jaw. Set screw in right side of rear jaw hasn't been altered - unknown history - no sign of damage at this spot. Base locking handle has slight bend on one end. Vise has been inspected closely and is in overall good condition. The vise has been cleaned enough to assess condition - identify marks, front jaw beam, etc.

Besides the jaw face described above, the vise has light surface rust, scratches and paint loss. No functional problems and no lube has been applied to sliding parts. Please see all pictures for full condition details. Thank you for visiting and don't wait too long on this antique Columbian vise!
