Vintage Yankee No. 993 Drill Press Vise With No. 1993 Swivel Base
993 DRILL PRESS VISE WITH NO. 1993 SWIVEL BASE is in Excellent condition. It is missing 1 Jaw that is held in place with 2 machine screws. The vise still works well without the second jaw, but we believe that the original jaw had v-grooves to hold round stock.
The vise is stamped " "YANKEE No. 16 15, JUNE 29 15. The base has its original brass tag which says " "YANKEE No. 16, 1915 JUNE 29, 1916 The vise and swivel base work perfectly.
The base has a locking lever that locks the swivel as well as tightening the vise to the base. There are no cracks or broken parts and there are no previous owner's names or ID markings. The vise opens to 3-1/4", but that is without the second jaw which would be 1/4" thick.
The jaws are 2-3/4" wide and have a 1-7/8" depth. The vise is tight, opens and closes very smoothly and the jaws closes parallel to each other. The last picture shows the 2 holes for the machine screws to hold the second jaw. Please view our feedback with over 6,000 positive reviews.
