Offered here is a very fine ANTIQUE CHAS. PARKER, MERIDEN CONN, MACHINIST'S BENCH VISE WITH A SWIVEL BASE, SOLID BAR, AND SEMI-STEEL CONSTRUCTION, NUMBER: 239. This classic machinist's bench vise has a PATENT DATE: "JAN 2, 1906" cast on the side of the vise. It was found in an old shop and it sat on the bench for probably a half century....The last 25 years unused! An old brass tag with numbers was noted on the side of the vise. The vise was removed from the bench, taken apart and cleaned and inspected. All the parts are in fine working order. There were no cracks or splits. There was some light pitting on the base near the side swivel handle which does not effect the operation of the vise. The vise jaws open easily and it swivels with the touch of a finger.
The jaws measure 3-3/4 inches wide and the vise opens outward about 8 inches long. Overall, the vise measures about 18 inches long by 8 inches tall.
Although used, it was never abused. It will serve you for another 100 years.
See photos for additional details. As you can imagine, this large machinist vise is quite heavy.Thank you for looking and good luck. Please contact me for details.
